Service Description

“Splitting” is a cost-effective way to establish a new hive. The Birds and Bees Farm will teach you how to do it and how to avoid some of the pitfalls associated with this common beekeeping practice. The basic concept of making a split is to take a portion of a strong, healthy, established colony and transfer it to a new hive, thereby creating two colonies. The end goal is for both colonies to be complete, each with sufficient worker bee populations, stores and their own queen.
